The Cardiopulmonary Services Department at University Hospital and Medical Center offers a full range of therapeutic and diagnostic inpatient and outpatient care.

Inpatient Cardiopulmonary Services

For patients that are admitted into the hospital, the Cardiopulmonary Department may provide:

  • oxygen therapy
  • bronchodilator therapy
  • chest physiotherapy
  • mechanical ventilation

Patients are provided education in such areas as the use of oxygen and breathing exercise before being discharge to home.

Diagnostic Cardiopulmonary Services

Among the diagnostic cardiopulmonary services are:

  • electrocardiogram (ECG)
  • stress testing
  • echocardiogram
  • electroencephalogram
  • pulmonary function testing
  • bronchoscopy
  • sleep studies (polysomnography)

For the comfort and convenience of the outpatients, a member of the Cardiopulmonary Department personally escorts patients from Registration to their test location.
